Recommended Prior Learning

WHAT SHOULD I HAVE ALREADY DONE?

Level 1 Science with consistent Achievement or at least 1 Merit

Level 1 Mathematics preferably 11MAC. This course assumes students have knowledge of Pythagoras and Trigonometry.

WHAT WILL I LEARN

  • Develop an understanding of important physics concepts by experimenting in groups.

  • Provide students with the opportunity to discuss Physics concepts and relate them to key concepts.

  • Provide students with a range of experiences that will help develop them as confident and competent Physics students.

  • Provide opportunities to explore everyday experiences that relate to Physics.

  • Develop students’ ability to calculate complex and simple calculations.

HOW IS THE COURSE ASSESSED? (20 credits)

2 Level 2 Achievement Standards and one Level 3 Achievement Standard (16 credits) which are externally assessed.

1 Internally assessed Level 2 standard makes up 4 credits.

WHAT ARE THE COURSE COSTS?
Workbooks will be provided as a textbook, but must be returned in excellent condition at the end of the year. Students may opt to purchase a copy if they wish to write in it. The cost is approximately $28 for the course workbooks.
