Course Description
Teacher in Charge:
Year 12 Physics
WHAT WILL I LEARN
Develop an understanding of important physics concepts by experimenting in groups.
Provide students with the opportunity to discuss Physics concepts and relate them to key concepts.
Provide students with a range of experiences that will help develop them as confident and competent Physics students.
Provide opportunities to explore everyday experiences that relate to Physics.
Develop students’ ability to calculate complex and simple calculations.
HOW IS THE COURSE ASSESSED? (20 credits)
2 Level 2 Achievement Standards and one Level 3 Achievement Standard (16 credits) which are externally assessed.
1 Internally assessed Level 2 standard makes up 4 credits.

Recommended Prior Learning
WHAT SHOULD I HAVE ALREADY DONE?
Level 1 Science with consistent Achievement or at least 1 Merit
Level 1 Mathematics preferably 11MAC. This course assumes students have knowledge of Pythagoras and Trigonometry.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
WHAT ARE THE COURSE COSTS?
Workbooks will be provided as a textbook, but must be returned in excellent condition at the end of the year. Students may opt to purchase a copy if they wish to write in it. The cost is approximately $28 for the course workbooks.
