Recommended Prior LearningWHAT SHOULD I HAVE ALREADY DONE?
12MAC students will need to get at least 14 credits that includes Achieved or higher in two out of AS 2.6 Algebra, AS2.7 Calculus & AS2.14 Systems of Equations as well as Achieved or higher in AS2.12 Probability.
12MAS students will need to get at least 14 credits that include Achieved(or higher) in both of AS2.1 Coordinate Geometry & AS 2.14 Systems of Equations as well as Achieved or higher in AS2.12 Probability.
You need to be highly computer literate and be able to use Google Docs and NZGrapher and have good English skills (at least one Merit and one Achievement in two of the following standards AS91100, 91098 or 91099) specifically for the Statistics internal assessments which you do.

How to interpret Mathematics and Statistics in the real world.
HOW IS THE COURSE ASSESSED? No external standards - fully internal
6 Level 3 Achievement Standards - 20 credits (12 credits from Mathematics and 8 credits from Statistics).
Because this is a fully internally assessed course, there is no opportunity for endorsement.

Contributions and Equipment/StationeryWHAT ARE THE COURSE COSTS?
Workbooks will be provided as a text book, but must be returned in excellent condition at the end of the year (students may opt to purchase their own copies if they wish to write in them. They will be available from Hawkes Bay Office Products at an approximate total cost of $30).
A Graphic Calculator is a huge advantage in this course and, if your daughter does not already have one of these, they can be purchased from Hawke's Bay Office Products at an approximate cost of $180.
