WHAT WILL I LEARN?

  • To read and analyse a range of written and visual texts

  • To create and deliver an oral presentation

  • To develop a portfolio of writing for a range of audiences and purposes

HOW IS THE COURSE ASSESSED?

5 Level 2 Achievement Standards (21 credits)

3 internally assessed standards make up 13 credits. 

2 externally assessed standards make up 8 credits. (With teacher guidance, students will select two out of the three offered.)

L1 English – you must achieve at least 14 credits, including 4 credits in the external examination at Merit level.

Level 3 English: 13ENG, 13ENS or 13ENV

For success in any Level 3 English course, you must achieve at least 14 Level 2 credits.
For 13ENV at least 4 of these credits must be achieved in the external examination.
For 13ENG at least 4 of your L2 credits must be at Merit or Excellence standard for 2.1 or 2.2.
