WHAT WILL I LEARN?

  • To read and respond critically to a range of texts

  • To extend writing skills

  • To carry out independent research

  • To be introduced to literary criticism and theory

  • To deliver an oral presentation


HOW IS THE COURSE ASSESSED?

5 Level 3 achievement standards - 18 credits

3 internally assessed standards make up 10 credits

2 externally assessed standards make up 8 credits. (With teacher guidance, students will select two out of three offered).

WHAT SHOULD I HAVE ALREADY DONE? 

You must have achieved at least 14 Level 2 credits. 8 of these credits must be achieved in the external examination. At least 4 of your Level 2 credits must be at Merit or Excellence standard for 2.1 or 2.2.
