Year 12 Mathematics and Statistics General (MAG)
This course is suited to students who wish to gain credits in Level 2 Mathematics and provide a broader mathematical foundation for life and further study in a variety of subjects.

How to use Mathematics to solve problems in context
Skills in logic, reasoning, communication, modelling and critical thinking
Use networks to find optimal solutions
Statistics: Designing questionnaires.
Probability and simulations
Sequences and series
Trigonometry in practical situations
Co-ordinate geometry: how to solve problems
HOW IS THE COURSE ASSESSED?
12 or 14 Level 2 Achievement Standard credits all from Internal assessments

WHAT ARE THE COURSE COSTS?
A Scientific Calculator (or Graphics Calculator) is a huge advantage in this course and if your daughter does not already have one of these, she can purchase one from Hawke’s Bay Office Products at an approximate cost of $30 (Scientific) or $180 (Graphics).
