Year 10 Science (SCI)

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

  • Preparing soil, sowing seeds and caring for seedlings. Students credited with this unit are able to prepare soil for planting using the correct tools, sow seeds using a suitable method and care for seedlings including watering, weeding and fertilizing.

  • How to identify containers, materials, plants, and tools used in plant propagation.

  • How to carry out a practical investigation in a chemistry context, with direction.

  • How to carry out a practical investigation in a biological context, with direction.

  • How to investigate, interpret and relate biological ideas. How to make and label biological drawings that relate to biological processes in mammals, and the impact of environmental factors on these processes.

  • How to research, collate and present information about astronomical cycles and Earth events.
