Year 11 Art Design & Photography (DSN)
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Visual Arts students communicate their own ideas by responding to how art expresses identity, culture, ethnicity and personal perspectives.
Students will develop digital knowledge, techniques and processes including the use of cameras and computer software such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
Visual Arts students are encouraged to be curious, take risks and think critically.
HOW IS THE COURSE ASSESSED?
3 Level 1 Achievement Standards – 15 credits
1 internally assessed makes up 10 credits
2 externally assessed makes up 10 credits

NB You cannot take both 11ART and 11DSN as they are the same standards.
Recommended Prior Learning
WHAT SHOULD I HAVE ALREADY DONE?
It is preferable to have taken Art as a subject in Year 10.

WHAT ARE THE COURSE COSTS
A laptop capable of running Adobe software (NOT a Chromebook) is required for this course. School computer access can be provided during class time for those students without their own laptops. These are desktop computers and cannot be taken home.
